After sustaining severe knee damage in the accident, the NHS told me it was nothing major and was probably arthritis due to my age and lifestyle.

They were in contact with me through the whole thing on a regular basis with both phone calls and emails.
In the end, they got me a substantial payment that I was extremely happy with.

I was hit head on by a car, driven by someone who was unwell, and passed out momentarily behind the wheel. I spent a month in hospital and years outside recovering to be told there was nothing wrong with what happened.The insurance company would not be paying any personal injury award due to a law only used in Scotland called automatism. It means that the driver couldn't be held accountable as he was unconscious when he hit me. Motorcycle Law Scotland took on my case and, after a long and arduous time, came to an out of court settlement that I am very happy with. "So, after being hit by an oncoming car turning in front of me, I was then trying to deal with my insurance who failed to note the accident THREE times. They also threatened that I would lose money, my no claims bonus and have to pay the voluntary excess (even though not my fault?!) UNLESS......I used their lawyers. I had a serious motorcycle accident in sept 2020 in Glencoe; not the best place to be taken out by a car driver who just decided to set off and cut right across my path from a car park. I ended up with a broken left femur and hip fracture as well as a wrist fracture plus other injuries and a bike total write off. The driver admitted on the spot it was his fault and the police also charged him at the scene. I am from England but the case had to handled by a Scottish Law firm as the accident had occurred in Scotland.
At the time, I was recommended by my insurer to use a company called Gildeas in Glasgow to handle case, big mistake. Gildeas are panel appointed solicitors with no real specialities in this type of case, just personal injury claims.
The appointed solicitor did absolutely nothing to help me. I had to always be calling them to get things done. Very poor service.
I then decided to see who else might be able to handle the case and came across Motorcycle Law Scotland. I called their office and spoke to Brenda, a senior partner who agreed to take on my case after discussing the situation. I sacked Gildeas (they were not happy as they lost a cut and dried case, but it was their own fault).
Firstly Brenda organised a rehabilitation company to contact me and set up a home visit to discuss my issues. I needed a lot of massage to free up my left femur muscles which were very damaged, so this was arranged with a local clinic and agreed plus other treatment for non union fractures (PEMF Therapy with Pemfit Lancaster) amongst other things.
Anyway, Motorcycle Law did everything they could to assist me right through the next two years until I was able to settle the case and bring it to a satisfactory conclusion.
I am very grateful to all at Motorcycle Law Scotland, especially Brenda. They did a great job.
The moral of the story really is don’t take your own insurer’s recommendation for a solicitor to act for your injuries, do some research as it could cost you a poor outcome long term."
