When a pedestrian walks out in front of a car, it's the pedestrian who usually comes off worse. When a pedestrian walks or runs out in front of a motorcyclist, frequently the motorcyclist will sustain serious injury. Motorcyclists generally ride defensively and are on the alert for pedestrians who look as if they may suddenly emerge into their path.
